Mr. Lkhagvasuren Byadran serves as the Governor of the Bank of Mongolia, where he has been employed for over 20 years. He is a member of the Monetary Policy Board and the Financial Stability Board. Previously, he held roles including Vice President of the Mongolian Bankers Association and Founder/CEO of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Mongolia. Before assuming his current position on November 22, 2019, he was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Mongolia. Mr. Byadran's career spans significant contributions to banking sector reform, including roles as Director-General of the Banking Supervision Department and the Payment and Information Technology Department. He also served as an Ex-Officio member of the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia and an Independent Board Member of the Development Bank of Mongolia. Prior to his tenure at the Bank of Mongolia, he worked at the Economic Institute of the Central Planning Committee of Mongolia, focusing on monetary policy and financial sector stability. Mr. Byadran holds a Bachelor of Economics from the National University of Mongolia and a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York.
